That was my first public piece of artwork, which was cool to see. So my design had instruments, people playing the guitars, and stuff like that.

This mobile building was where they taught music. I won a competition to design a mural for a building in our school. I got my first recognition for drawings when I was about ten. I thought that the characters I was drawing would become part of video games at some point, and I could design levels and develop the games around an interactive world where the characters would live. The colours, how the graphics looked, and the character design inspired me, and I wanted to be a video game creator. It made me want to draw characters all the time and create environments for them to live in. I played a game called Crash Bandicoot, which changed my life. From the age of three or four, I used to draw pictures of frogs, aliens and waterfalls in sketchbooks my parents gave me. As a form of release or meditation, his process is fluid, therapeutic, unrestrained, and without hesitation, as if channeling directly from his world into ours with great stamina. But where Mr Doodle separates himself is in his sense of purpose: a deep and obsessive compulsion to expand and share his vision of his DoodleWorld. Like other artists of his generation, he also explored a number of collaborations with iconic brands, including Fendi, Puma, Samsung and MTV to begin with. Mr Doodle’s works transcend beyond the canvas, invading furniture, big surfaces, clothing, and more.
